Well just need enough shooters to not have to play multiple at once…I do start to worry about roster spots though

I think signing Okogie for more than the min is going to end up just like when they overpay Royce-salary for future trades.

They are losing EG, drafted a total zero, they trending the wrong way.

They are, but if Booker, Beal, KD, Grayson, and Royce will all shoot more 3s, they should be ok. It would be nice to add another shooter…Jalen Bridges can shoot. So can Lee. I’d like a 5 that can shoot and then whatever pg they get should shoot as well.

Current depth

Guards: Booker, Beal, Allen
Wings: KD, Dunn, Okogie, Lee, Little, Roddy, Bridges(2-Way)
Bigs: Nurk, Ighodaro

Still waiting on Bol and Royce. With them we’re at 13 players and definitely need another big and guard(ball handler). Those would push us to 15.
Dunn and Oso and Bridges should be counted on to be guys 12-15. I'm waiting for us to add players we can rely on as 7-9

Chill on home run. Dude can't shoot and is barely an nba player. We can't have a bench full of guys that can't shoot.

How many non shooters can the Suns afford to have on the roster?
Well we had about 10 of them last year

People be drinking that Kool-Aid getting their hopes up that a bunch of 2nd round picks who have fatal flaws can contribute to a win-now team. Let's not fall for the draft hype where every draft pick is boasted and Davon Reed is touted as the next great suns guard

He’s shot 40% from 3 over the last 2 years with Utah…he’s not hitting pull-up 3s, but he’s not Josh Okogie. I think you’re remembering Kris Dunn from years ago…he’s easily an nba player with Utah..I’m worried someone will give him more than the vet min.

Well Bridges is a 2-way…he’s likely 16…Id like to add a big ahead of Oso and have Oso be the 3rd big, so he’s probably 11/12. It would be disappointing if Dunn isn’t in our top 10 though. He should be in that 8/9 range.

Josh Okogie opted out also. So none of our FAs took the 2nd year option on their 2-year deal from last year. Though I think JO was still on his deal from when we acquired him. We have a lot of holes to fill still.
Go Suns!

Do these guys opting out knock us into a different apron?

Okogie was dreadful to watch last year. I don’t know how or why he hasn’t developed a jump shot yet but I’m not really going to miss the guy.

I think Beal, Book, Durant, and Nurkic alone put is in the 2nd apron.

I know teams need shooters, but I really felt the pain of our lack of defense last year. I want a few more guys who are lockdown defenders. I want a guy like Okogie and a guy like Dunn to throw at the other team's best guard and wing. You don't play them together (except maybe situationally) but they are weapons for Bud to use.

Bums me out. This guy would be an NBA starter if he could just shoot it from the corner 3 even like 34% of the time on a few attempts.

Okogie never morphed into Lu Dort, as many thought he might.
Offensive game was wildly inconsistent.
Window is open again ... blue skies ahead?
