Hmm. So tough to pick the next show. Just wrapped Dark Matter recently. I did pick up Star Trek Discovery again last night and I'm going to finish that up. I think I'll continue Fallout next as I only watched the first show so far and it was definitely interesting.

I watched Gone Girl again for the first time since I saw it originally. For some reason I've been jonesing to watch it again and I can't tell you why. Just as good on second viewing. I had forgotten some of the twists and turns.

I'm about due for my every-few-months rewatch of No Country for Old Men. I think that may now be my favorite movie of all time. Freakin' masterpiece.

My wife and I are watching Only Murders in the Building right now. Fun show, enjoyable banter between Steve Martin and Martin Short. Seasons 1-2 are quite good; Season 3 so far is kind of meh, but still watchable.

We're also watching House of the Dragon as it airs each week. I like it a lot. Not quite as good as the best seasons of Game of Thrones, but better than the bad seasons (7-8). Has some big flaws (who is that guy again? Aemon, Aemond, Daemon, Daegon, Aeron?) but the politicking and battles and such are still great.

I've never watched Veep; I should watch that. I adore Julia Louis-Dreyfus and I bet I'd really enjoy that show. How does Elaine keep getting better looking all the way up into her 40s and 50s like that? She's doing blood magic or something.

Saw Twisters yesterday…. Fun flick and doesn’t require knowledge or watching of the first movie.

Binged Baby Reindeer (Netflix) over a couple nights. Excellent and very interesting show although e4 is very tough to get through but it is rewarding if you can push past it and finish the episodes. Based on a true story. Excellent acting and cinematography.

I have a ticket for this coming Friday to an IMAX showing of Deadpool & Wolverine. Wanted to go opening day but there weren't good enough seats by the time I ordered my ticket. Don't see a whole lot of movies in the theaters these days so I'm really looking forward to it.

Yea I need to go back and finish baby reindeer. A.D.D’d and got onto something else.

Trying to still work out seeing Deadpool and Wolverine… prob go see it with the fam at fat cats at some point. Looks like a lot of fun and love all the callbacks to previous movies, comics and shows. Can’t wait!

Yeah, my son couldn't get past e4, but I told him it's worth it to finish. It's kind of like that Monty quote. Good things are on the other side of hard or whatever it was.

What's everyone watching?

It's "fire" as the kids say.
Finished the first season…. Dang good. Gillenhall and skarsgard knocked it out of the park with the acting. I’ll be surprised if gillenhall doesn’t get nominated for an award.

How was it? I liked seasons 1 and 2 but 3 kinda lost me.

So, what did you think? I finally got to see it yesterday.... Was everything I had hoped for and more. It's a movie that pays off better the more you know about previous movies, tv shows, cartoons, and comics; but takes it further if you're a huge nerd (guilty) and follow all of the years of fan casting and comic book movie gossip. It's not required knowledge but definitely makes you go "OH SNAP" when you see it.

Previous to seeing this... The Dark Knight was my favorite comic book movie of all time, followed by Superman The Movie. This movie feels like it's in a genre of it's own in some ways. I just can't compare it to TDK since I enjoyed both differently, but overall enjoyed Deadpool and Wolverine more.

Can't wait to see it again... I'm sure there's stuff I missed.

My wife and I have 1 more episodes of Dark Matter left. How the fuc* did Silo score higher on IMDB? Dark Matter is so much better. Silo was so very mediocre. Whatever. What a show! Episode 8 was absolutely nuts.

I liked Silo, but my main complaint is that they sort of set up an interesting mystery in the first 1-2 episodes, then spend about 6 episodes dicking around and showing things that are completely obvious from the first 1-2 episodes, before finally advancing the plot right at the end of the season. One thing I don't like about modern TV is that every show's seasons have to make a long joined story, so they basically plan a 10-hour or 8-hour movie all at once, and each episode isn't really as good on its own. I hope Season 2 of Silo is better.

The acting in Silo is super cringe. I threw in the towel (though watched all of it since my wife was into it) when the main character suspended from the edge, hanging from the bar with one hand and only like 3 or 4 of her fingers (they kept zooming on her hand for suspense) while a trained assassin continued to violently bludgeon her hand for 5 minutes, only for her to eventually pull herself back up. Are you fuc*king kidding me?!

I hope S2 is better as well. You're totally right. There was far too much filler and then, suddenly, it gets intriguing again right at the very end of S1.

Any thoughts on the Emmys? Looks like Shogun cleans up; 18 awards (!), most since Game of Thrones. Jeremy Allen White from The Bear wins best lead actor in a drama series, part of 11 wins for that show overall. Last Week Tonight (John Oliver) and The Daily Show won awards.

Other winners:
Best comedy: “Hacks” (Max)
Best anthology series: “Baby Reindeer” (Netflix)
