I believe so. There were analytics guys this summer saying exactly this, that his ceiling is CJ McCollum.DrSublime wrote:this a joke?O_Gardino wrote:His ceiling is CJ McCollum.iLLmatic wrote:So overrated.Marty [Mori Chu] wrote:Booker ends up with 46 points on 17-32 shooting. Wow.
I saw the tweet and responded that very soon CJ McCollum is going to wish his ceiling was Devin Booker.

I heard it on a podcast with some talking heads. And I think the analytics went as far as glancing at the fg% and never watching a game.In2ition wrote:I believe so. Very much sarcasm. Booker is going to be a superstar if he continues on this trajectory.DrSublime wrote:this a joke?O_Gardino wrote:His ceiling is CJ McCollum.iLLmatic wrote:So overrated.Marty [Mori Chu] wrote:Booker ends up with 46 points on 17-32 shooting. Wow.

At some point, he will level off and just be who he is. However. If he just maintains his present level of play (this year), he will be considered a star/superstar player. I would have no problem building around Booker as the player he presently is at this moment.iLLmatic wrote:Very much sarcasm. It was a really awesome Booker performance; one of the best games of his career. And it was just fun to watch him do it. The league has taken notice. Even the opposing crowds have to start cheering for him.Superbone wrote:That was an awesome win. Booker was just clowning Embiid tonight. Took him and another defender to the hoop and dunked on him. Shot jumpers over him. Came into the lane and knocked in a hook layup over his outstretched arms. Booker tonight seriously reminded me of Jordan in his heyday just making other teams look foolish. He just crushed the soul of the Philly crowd. All they could do was let out audible oohs by the end of the game.n4th4n wrote:Fun fun fun game tonight.
One of the best signs I see from Booker is that even when he has a hot game, he still passes the ball and looks for his teammates. He sometimes rushes up a shot or two, but overall he doesn't go into tunnel-vision Kobe mode and start ignoring open shooters and teammates. I'm glad he shows this kind of leadership by example.

The Wizards brain trust who picked Jeffries, to this day, are kept awake at night by regret. "I can't believe we wasted that pick on Jeffries. We could have had Melvin Ely! Or Marcus Haislip! Or Fred Jones!"ShelC wrote:We really need to get some players around Book.
The Bender-Jared Jeffries comp made me break out into a sweat. That just might be spot on. Scary.
McD will forever be tormented by similar thoughts about the Bender pick.

agreeIf he just maintains his present level of play (this year), he will be considered a star/superstar player.
he doesn't need trajectory to make it, he just needs some longevity
but there is every sign that there will, indeed, be trajectory
he's got the fire in his belly, he can lead, and he shows he can learn
his ball handling and passing abilities are improving
and with the right coaching and his excellent footwork there is no reason he can't be a good defensive player
