Grizzlies moved Ziaire Williams and a 2030 second to the Nets for a guy who I don’t recognize.

Refresh my memory; we made a trade with the Grizzlies one year where we traded down? with them.
Is this that player?

I think you might be thinking of Zhaire Smith…we drafted him and traded him for Mikal Bridges on draft night.

Here's the South Sudan roster. Only name I recognize is Wenyen Gabriel.

Also, Cavs maxed out Mobley, 224 mil deal with potential to go up to 269. That's pretty crazy.

Remember, some people were comparing this squad to the Dream Team.

They always get compared to the dream team…it’s never going to be the same as the original dream team because the other countries are much better now. This years team is loaded with big name players, but LeBron, KD, and Curry are not in their primes anymore. 2016 was the best chance for those 3 to all play together in their primes, but only KD was on the team.

I have no doubt the US could’ve steamrolled South Sudan if they wanted to…it was still just an exhibition game and I fully expect the US to win the gold fairly easy.

I wish he was the 4/5 of the future for the Suns. I ❤️ his game.

From that perspective, yes. OTOH Barnes and Cade are both unquestioned 1A on their respective teams right now (even if not quite 1A on a true contender), while Franz is a 1B with no clear flaw in his game other than suddenly forgetting how to shoot the 3 this past year, but he showed true shooting ability earlier on. Mobley isn’t necessarily even the best or most effective big on his own roster so that max is a bit surprising. But also, yeah, they aren’t gonna let him go and didn’t want to alienate him.

Puts those teams between a rock and a hard place. Gives young players max contracts when they aren't worth it and teams can't offer less otherwise the player gets mad and feels offended.

Ya I get it..but I’d also point out that Cunningham and Barnes are 1A on bad teams…Mobley hasn’t developed offensively like you’d want, but his defense is pretty special and he is on a good team. It’s the rookie scale max too, which isn’t as crazy. Anyone who is a cornerstone or could be a cornerstone gets it…see MPJ, Ayton, etc.

I want to say that it’s karma for the nuggets thinking they can outsmart the system and losing key pieces to their championship roster. It’s not quite Dallas 2006 level but it’s close.
I'm hoping they'll still be good enough to be enticing to Bradley Beal.
Beal for Jokic?
Adding Russ probably negates Denver as a possibility, but maybe LeBron through back channels tries to recruit Beal.

I watched Shayock in college and followed him a little bit through the pre-draft process. Carlik Jones has been balling in the G-League. He is signed with Partizan this year and apparently only has an NBA out through July 25. So he might have to wait until the 25-26 season to catch on with a NBA team.

Oh, wow. TNT has decided to match the competing NBA broadcast TV deals to retain their rights to broadcast games. This seems like an unexpected move.

I think the NBA can choose which deal they want, TNT or Amazon. I could be wrong, but that was how I interpreted the other postings about this, and not Sidery's aggregated incorrect nonsense.

NBC took the TNT spot, TNT is trying to match the newly created 3rd spot they made for Amazon…it’s a lesser spot mostly made for streaming, so we’ll see how it goes
