I enjoy seeing people use the Grok AI to generate images making fun of Elon.

Musk buys Twitter, bankrolled partly by the Saudis and Russia, and this is what they get for their investment.

Elon is such a weird gross creepo at times. I heard people saying that he has too much divorced dad energy and this is a great example of that.

Well, it's too bad. He sometimes makes perfectly normal tweets, even interesting, even sometimes funny. He tweets about interesting things his companies are doing, like a SpaceX launch or a new Tesla car or feature. But then he'll immediately follow it up with absolute garbage like offering to impregnate Taylor Swift or moronic racist conspiracy theory BS. Oh well.

Interesting thread about Trump Media, the company behind Truth Social, and various conflicts of interest.

Does he really think the Dems want to arrest him and shut his site down?

As Trump said, he’s the greatest cutter. Look how much he cut revenues!

Elon made the Twitter engineers put a special flag in their code to specifically boost his own tweets to make him feel better about his engagement numbers.

I've heard some people praise Elon Musk for managing to run Twitter despite laying off around 80% of its workforce. And while there's something there about efficiency and bloated hiring, I do think it's fair to say that the company is being run worse now with Elon there and with so many of their talented people gone. Their active users have dropped noticeably in the past year.

I wonder how many of these "users" are just the blue checkmark AI bots that are constantly rewording th tweets they quote. I'd guess the human uses have dropped by even more than this is listing.

Twitter still has a very useful role in distributing information quickly to a mass audience and letting them discuss it. But I really hate the way it has changed over the past 1-2 years. It's much more of a right-wing cesspool now. The "verified" badge means nothing, and almost every thread gets overrun with trolls, bots, porn, spam, crypto, and ads for Trump / MAGA. You try to click on a video to watch it, and then when the video is done, it immediately jumps and auto-plays some pro-Trump video by somebody you don't even follow. And Elon's own tweets get force-fed into your timeline even if you don't follow him or interact with any of his content. The good content is still there, but increasingly the bad / shitty stuff gets in the way of it. I may jump to another network if it gets much worse / if the others keep improving. Maybe Threads is a good alternative, though I haven't used that yet.

Can Threads posts be embedded here like Tweets?

I don't know if they can yet. Probably not. When I get some downtime I'll investigate whether it is doable.

Oh great, Twitter is about to change their block button so that it doesn't actually block the person. Of course this is the type of decision you would get if you have a company leader who wants to force everybody to see his posts no matter what.

I guess it’s a big deal if you use it…. Outside of this sites I have zero engagement with Twitter and could care less, nor am I surprised since I knew this idiot was going to run things into the ground since changing the name.

There will come a point where he won’t own it and it will be restored to a more neutral, less vitriolic ownership.
