Ya probably multiple teams posturing tbh…they know we are desperate. If we have plans with say Nurk and one of our other 1sts, we should just do that now and take the option of including all 3 1sts for Butler off the table.

I can’t remember if I read it here or not, but someone said Gambo said we won’t trade all 3 picks or Dunn for Butler.

Yeah, that’s what Gambo said yesterday.

Suns should be content to do nothing. Or at least nothing around Butler. Suns have shown that their current draft scouts can picks some winners late in the first round.

I read somewhere that, since we have acquired those three 1sts, it "unlocks" some of our own 1sts in the "even-numbered" years (2026, 2028, 2030) that we would otherwise have been blocked from trading. Can anyone confirm/deny? Do we suddenly have the ability to trade our own 1sts and keep these new "worst of 2-3" ones we acquired from Utah?
Yes. We have a pick in the next 6 drafts, so we can trade either 25/27/29 or 26/28/30…actually we might not be able to trade 30 because we already traded 31, but we can trade 26/28
I wonder I how much our triple-swapped pick in ‘26 is worth. We just traded for three picks very much like it.

It honestly feels like Miami is trying to get everything, and they believe that Ishbia is going to cave, since they saw him do it with KD. It wouldn't surprise me if Butler doesn't get done and the Suns are left empty handed.

It also wouldn’t surprise me if Miami turns out to be right about Ish caving.

Yeah, no doubt that was a bad precedent so he certainly can't do it again.

What about this as a pivot in case Jimmy don’t work out.

Bucks: Zach Levine, Torrey Craig

Chicago: Beal, Portis 1st from Bucks. 1st from Suns

Raptors: Middleton, Pat Connaughton, 1st Suns

Suns: Bruce Brown, Vucevic.

Still leaves us with a 1 to use or to attach to Nurk.

Book-Brown-Dunn-KD-Vucevic

Tyus-Grayson-Royce-Nick Richards.

Edit: Chris Boucher also goes to Chicago as well.

2025 pick is almost certainly the Cleveland pick and will be 29 or 30.

2026 pick will end up the worst of Washington/Orlando/Memphis…doesn’t really matter it was swapped 3 times…based on this years records it seems like it’ll end up as the Memphis pick, but Orlando is a team on the rise. Also could just be ours.

2027 pick will be worst of Cleveland/Minny/Utah

2028 pick is a bit complex, but it’ll be the worst of Washington/Brooklyn(or Philly if Brooklyn ends up with that pick)/Phoenix. Neither Washington or Brooklyn seem that scary to me.

2029 pick is the same as the 2027 one

2030 pick is worst of Was/Mem

Memphis is the team to be most worried about. I anticipate the suns will keep pushing through 2026 at least. We could end up moving say the 15th pick for like the 25th pick…not great.

2030 looms as a bigger problem, but is also so far out that it’s hard to really know. I don’t see 2028 as a huge problem. We will either be picking in the 20s if we are good or teens if we’re not.

Why would Beal allow himself to get shipped to Chicago, vs. the other playoff contenders? He's high...

His college coach is in Chicago…and I don’t think Beal has much choice…nobody wants him, so it might be Chicago or Phoenix.

I'll take Lavine over Beal; I don't get why Chicago would do that.

I don't want Lavine and I don't think it would make us contenders, but Beal is NOT working here. Hes just not. You have to try something different and their contracts are the same.

Would be easier to trade LaVine for Butler in the summer if we can’t get Butler now

Beal is also from Chicago, so he’d be going home and playing for his childhood team. Beal keeps talking about finding the joy from playing again, clearly not happening here so far. He can be happy in Chicago, playing for his for favorite team growing up. He can be a tank commander again.

Listening to Gambo yesterday and he didn’t sound optimistic at all about a Jimmy deal getting done. Burns ask him if butler will still be with the Heat after feb.6 and Gambo says he thinks so. Not him as an insider but rather his opinion. I still think he gets traded but as confident as couple days ago. I think 100% he gets traded still but only 75/25 it’s too us.

Only other update he said was that we are looking to trade Nurk for someone who be in the rotation.

I was wrong about this…LaVine makes less than Butler so we wouldn’t be able to make that trade.
