His explanation: “The little bit of the redneck in me.” May that serve him well with the right kind of voters.

I like Trump's response to Republicans for Harris:
"We have to purge the Party of people that go against our Candidates..." Trump posted on Truth Social

Re: 2024 Election
Here's the RFK Jr New Yorker story he was trying to get out ahead of:
Re: 2024 Election
Some more numbers for Harris vs Trump. She is doing well with black and Latino voters. I think she may carry AZ in the election which would help her have more paths to 270.
Re: 2024 Election
Frank Zappa on Pat Roberts and the GOP many years ago.
In four years, you don’t have to vote again. We’ll have it fixed so good, you’re not gonna have to vote.
Re: 2024 Election
More polling, this time from Pennsylvania. Encouraging for Kamala.
And here are some numbers from Nevada. Dunno how in-play it is for Kamala but curious to see more data.

Re: 2024 Election
Trump is going to have to really dig down and come up with some really good insults and fabrications to counter this.

Re: 2024 Election
This dead bear thing is so weird. It looks like RFK might actually be charged with a crime for it.
Re: 2024 Election
I thought it was hit by a passing car. A car with knives protruding from the front?

Re: 2024 Election
I just think this is one of many (many) stories that show that RFK has really bad judgment and doesn't have the disposition to be an elected representative, much less President of the US. You find a dead bear (or maybe kill it yourself), and then you decide to play a prank by dumping it in Central Park and staging it as though it was some sort of bike lane mishap? That seems like a cruel and disgusting display, as well as being immature and possibly even illegal. This was when the guy was 60 years old! How old do you have to be to stop doing stupid shit like that?
Re: 2024 Election
A friend who is an RFK supporter offered that maybe the bear was hit and mortally wounded and RFK maybe ended its suffering with a knife. He also wanted to say that this was ten years ago and they are really reaching for dirt. All I can say is that I will certainly never run for President. I would hate to see what they dig up.

Re: 2024 Election
If RFK were otherwise a solid and impressive candidate, I wouldn't consider this weird bear story to be a deal-breaker. But he has so many other huge red flags like his anti-vax stuff and weird theories about the Jews creating COVID and his eagerness to cut deals with Trump and so many other things. So this is just another bizarre thing on the pile for him.
As for the whole, "I'm not voting FOR RFK, I'm voting AGAINST the two parties," well, I just don't think that makes sense. To me it reads like, "I don't like hamburgers or pizza, so I'm going to vote against them by eating a bowl of broken glass."

Notice the tweet Marty posted was from 2014. It was ruled at the time, after the investigation was completed, that the bear died from being hit by a car: https://www.nytimes.com/2014/10/08/nyre ... s-say.html

Re: 2024 Election
Did you notice the date on that tweet? It seems irresponsible to post something insinuating that Kennedy may be responsible for the bear’s death, when that post was prior to the results of the necropsy: https://www.nytimes.com/2014/10/08/nyre ... s-say.html

The point is to help put an end to the two-party system. Your analogy makes no sense.Mori Chu wrote: ↑Mon Aug 05, 2024 12:20 pmIf RFK were otherwise a solid and impressive candidate, I wouldn't consider this weird bear story to be a deal-breaker. But yes, I would rather have Kennedy in the White House than either Trump or Harris. I guess you could call it voting for “the least of three evils”?

Re: 2024 Election
I posted two tweets. The second one was from today, and it reads: "reports that the Manhattan DA's office is looking into charges againstJeremyG wrote: ↑Mon Aug 05, 2024 2:02 pmDid you notice the date on that tweet? @RobertKennedyJr for recklessly dumping a baby bear's carcass in Central Park ten years ago". That's why I said what I said, not merely based on a 10-year-old tweet. I don't think I was being irresponsible; I was just relaying what the tweet indicates from today.
Re: 2024 Election
He could have faced a $250 fine for dumping the bear, but the statute of limitations expired after a year: https://www.cnn.com/2024/08/05/politics ... index.html
There is zero evidence that he had anything at all to do with the bear’s death.
