Conley is on the wrong side of 30 and has two years left on his deal after this year. In two years he'll be making 34! million. HARD PASS. I would much rather have Teague at $19, TJ Mcconnell at a MLE type deal, Terry Rozier at 15-20, Dragic for the remainder of his deal or Dame Dolla/Kemba Walker for the same price as Conley.
I'm looking forward to free agency if we look good this season. Could be that free agent PGs come knocking on our door, rather than the other way around.

Kyrie, Kemba, Goran, Tyreke, [Bledsoe], Rubio, Collison, Dinwiddie, Beverley, Rondo and Teague could all be unrestricted next season. That's a heckuva list before you add RFAs Rozier, Brogdon and McConnell.

If Conley became available in a deal that included Ryan Anderson going out, I'd consider it.

I meant to ask if anybody had seen this commercial last night. Thanks for posting, UT. It's cute. (And I never describe things that way.)

I am not sure how to respond to "some here overvalue mid to low first rounders." I don't want to post a bunch of names that became stars or useful rotational players from the mid to low first round, that'd be cherry picking. But I can say that the one thing I hate most about Sarver is that he gave up first rounders left and right to save a few bucks. In this case, we'd get a player back, but maybe I'm not seeing the same TJ McConnell that you are watching. i see a gritty and resilient player who plays with all heart and well above his talent, which is great, but he's still an undersized PG with average athleticism who can't really shoot. Other than having had some experience in the NBA already, I don't know why he would be better than Okobo, Melton, or someone we could get with the 16-19th pick (the Mil pick has a lower end protection too, so it won't be a 28th pick no matter how hard we tried). I've asked this question repeatedly. Is it really the end of the world if we lost a few games because we lacked a "starting caliber point guard", and got another top prospect in the 2019 draft before we truly declared that we are back? What's the worst that can happen? Will the young guys really learn bad habits with the lack of a true floor general? Isn't that something Kokoskov's player development genius supposed to fix? What's the rush that we can't wait till the 2019 off season to acquire our mid-long term solution at the 1?

I don't know where you're getting that free agent list, but it's not correct.

Kyrie and Dragic both have player options. Maybe there's a very, very slight chance Dragic declines his PO to sign a long term deal with the Suns, but I would never bet on that happening. Kyrie isn't coming to Phoenix, so don't even entertain that possibility.

Kemba is possible, but we'd have to pay a significant amount more than other teams because he's the top UFA PG on the market and pretty much any team would be happy to sign him to a max-level contract if they have the cap room.

Bledsoe? LOL, no way.

Pass on all of Collision, Beverley, Rondo unless we strike out on pretty much everyone else.

I like Rubio, Dinwiddie and Teague, and probably in that order.

Trading for Conley would be a terrible idea not only because of his ridiculous contract, but we'd have to give up good assets to get him that would be too difficult to replace with him taking up so much cap space. He's a good player, but not $70M for 2-years good.

Don't forget Delon Wright. He might be my favorite restricted option. Rozier and Dinwiddie are intriguing too. As for McConnell. I think he's nice and better than our guys right now, but he's a backup. I wouldn't give up a 1st for a backup PG that could get passed in the rotation by next year.

I said, "could." I was literally correct. Don't be a dweeb.

Excluding Wright, OTOH, was an oversight. I agree that we shouldn't be giving up a first for a backup, even if he would start for us currently. Next year's free agency is where our solution likely lies.

Was Daniels even in the game long enough to get a concussion?

Dude. Really owes the entire site an apology. I hope the entire Warriors starting lineup tears all ligaments in all joints

For those interested, the last two ringer NBA podcast episodes spent a good chunk talking about the Suns. Had lots of good things to say.

He was upset at himself for making the mistakes, or upset at the coaches for pointing it out?
