Well yeah, Phoenix is the best fit for Love, but Minnesota doesn't care about that. And the fans probably value Gibson so much because they're sick of Love's poor defense.
And I think a deal of C.J. McCollum, Nicolas Batum, Thomas Robinson, Meyers Leonard, and a couple of picks for Kevin Martin and Kevin Love is a deal more appealing to Minnesota than anything Phoenix would offer.

Interesting. If I were a Wolves fan, I would balk at that. Batum's contract is crazy. Leonard has gotten worse in his second season after a bad rookie year. Robinson would be on his 8th team. McCullom is the only attractive piece in this, because their picks aren't all that good. It's possible that they all play better in MN though and it works out well for them. I wouldn't be surprised if Dieng took Love's place, and did well next to Pek.
I think the place of the pick is going to be the most important thing for Wolves in a trade.

I feel that you just can't trade a guy like that for the latest disgruntled superstar. I really, really want Kevin Love here as a Sun. But I would not do it if Dragic were the price. I'd give up Bledsoe in a heartbeat, but I don't think we can do that because of the contract details. I don't think it is allowed in the new CBA to sign-and-trade an RFA. Can somebody correct me if I'm wrong? And Bledsoe wouldn't go to Minny anyway; he likes winning and would not stand for playing on a crappy team like the Wolves.
So without either of those two in the deal, I just don't see what assets we have that would come even close to getting a deal done. The only thing I can think of is if we give them an absolute boat-load of draft picks, and/or also take bad contract(s) off their hands (Kevin Martin? bleh). I'd be potentially okay with a deal like that, but just DON'T TRADE DRAGIC! You can't treat a guy like that after what he did for us.
Mori, nothing prevents Bledsoe from being signed and traded, except Bledsoe himself. The player needs to sign off the move and I can't see him agreeing to go to the Wolves. It would need to be a third team that sent Minni something they covet.
On Dragic we are in complete agreement. Don't trade him, period.
And yes, Phoenix would probably be the best destination for Love all things considered, but he needs to see and believe it by himself before, and our chances don't look too good.

Bottom line, according to the source: Joerger wants out and Grizzlies ownership wants him out, but Joerger doesn't want to leave the rest of his multi-year contract on the table and the team doesn't want to pay him off.

I'm glad to see Gentry there as head coach - if, for nothing else, to help guarantee they won't get another #1 overall pick next year.....
